SALVADOR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

2018

Salvador International Airport — Deputado Luís Eduardo Magalhães, also known as Salvador Bahia Airport (invented name adopted by the operator), is an international airport located in the municipality of Salvador, São Cristóvão district, bordering the municipality of Lauro de Freitas, in the Brazilian state of Bahia. It is the largest and busiest airport in the state, and according to the list of the busiest airports in Brazil, it is the tenth in passenger movement among the country's airports

The concession contract for the French company Vinci Aiports was signed on July 28, 2017, and at first the administration was carried out jointly with Infraero. In 2018, the company took over the management on its own and began the modernization work at the airport, with the removal of 3 Boeing 737-200 aircraft from Vasp, which had been abandoned for 10 years, on February 23rd and March 28th, and recycling of materials from SATA, Transbrasil and Infraero. Vinci formed a consortium with the Portuguese construction companies Teixeira Duarte and Alves Ribeiro and Actemium that will be responsible for the renovation and expansion of the current passenger terminal, new pier with 6 boarding bridges, interconnection connector from the current terminal to the new pier, runway systems and aircraft yards and electrical, hydraulic, cold water, river networks, construction of a new sewage treatment and safety system. Investments in this first phase (1B) are R$700 million.

This project was an amazing opportunity to be part of a team of architects and engineers to develop the basic and executive project for the renovation and expansion of the TPS in 2018.
